Turns out the brushes aren’t right. The fan brush isn’t stiff enough for making the trees and the bigger brushes don’t have the right kind of edge.
We were hoping the cheap paints would be good enough, but most of them are a bit too runny. The earth tones and black seem like they’ll work okay.
And the palette isn’t actually flat, so the knife can’t get a good roll of paint.
So: some new paints, new brushes, new palette.
Still, the first painting didn’t turn out too bad!
